TWENTY-THREE barangays in Cebu City have 100 or more active Covid-19 cases as of Thursday, January 27, 2022.
This number constitutes 29.48 percent of the 78 of 80 Cebu City barangays that had active cases as of January 27.
On top of the list is Barangay Guadalupe with 645 active cases. Lahug followed with 416, according to the data provided by City Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the City Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Three barangays had over 300 but less than 400 active cases as of January 27. These are Tisa (334), Talamban (333) and Apas (317).
Also, there were five barangays that had 200 or more but less than 300 active cases as of January 27. These were Camputhaw (298), Capitol Site (279), Labangon (275), Mabolo (259) and Sambag 2 (219).
Thirteen barangays that had 100 or more but less than 200 active cases as of January 27, included Sambag 1 (198), Kasambagan (187), Punta Princesa (175), Mambaling (163), Kalunasan (155), Basak San Nicolas (154), Bulacao (145), Banilad (142), Pardo (129), Quiot (124), Inayawan (114), Bacayan (110), Santa Cruz (100).
Thirty-five barangays had double-digit active cases, while 20 barangays had only single-digit active cases.
Most of the barangays with single-digit active cases are in the Cebu City uplands.
Ten upland barangays had less than five active cases as of January 27. These were Agsungot (4), Pung-ol Sibugay (4), Taptap (4), Lusaran (4), Mabini (3), Sinsin (3), Pamutan (2), Sirao (2), Tabunan (2), and Tagba-o (2).
Critical care occupancy rate
The critical care occupancy rate in Cebu City had reached 60.81 percent as of January 27.
This after 391 of the total 643 beds allocated for Covid-19 were occupied. Only 252 beds were vacant.
Based on the Department of Health's classification, Cebu City is still at moderate risk in its occupancy rate. A moderate-risk classification means from 60 percent to less than 70 percent occupancy rate.
The utilization rate for the combined Covid and non-Covid beds had reached 45.39 percent as of January 27. This after 955 of the combined 2,104 beds allocated for Covid and non-Covid cases were occupied.
Meanwhile, the utilization rate for non-Covid beds had hit 38.60 percent as of January 27 after 564 of the total 1,461 beds set aside for non-Covid cases were occupied. (KAL)
