OVER P1 million worth of firearms and equipment were turned over by the San Carlos City Government to the local police last week to aid their peace and order campaign.

This included 35,200 nine-milimeter ammunition, five M4 assault rifles, an F5-DGIS (Direct Gas Impingement System), a firing selector, a semi-automatic pistol and a fully automatic Operating Platform: Direct Gas Impingement.

Also turned over were a 5.56 caliber Nato (5.56x45mm), compatible with both M855 and M193 ammunition and barrel length with choices of 10.5 inches, 11.5 inches and 14.5 inches.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona led the distribution of the firearms and equipment to acting San Carlos City acting police chief, Colonel Jesus Mesahon.

The turnover was also witnessed by Colonel Leo Pamittan, acting director of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office; Councilors Carlos Manuel Valmayor, Benito Gustilo Jr., Jose Carlo Villarante, Wilmer Yap, Lorna Hinolan, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Philip Gerard Masiog and Mark Cui; and SangguniangKabataan president JB Spring Bacurnay.
