DepEd-Tagum honors education partners

IN A bid to recognize the efforts of all education stakeholders in making schools safe and ready amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Education (DepEd) in Tagum City has conducted the Partners' Appreciation Program on November 26, 2021, at the Miko’s Brew Restaurant.

This year, DepEd-Tagum recognizes 18 partners who extended help and invested in education through television-based instruction (TVBI) and radio-based instruction (RBI) programs, school facilities and IT support packages; infrastructure; non-infrastructure; and learners’ and teachers’ support packages under the Adopt-a-School Program.

DepEd Tagum City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Josephine Fadul graced the event to thank the Local Government Unit, private partners, individuals, cooperative, radio and TV managers and reiterated the importance of partnerships in addressing the various needs in education. She likewise reported that Tagum City Division was recognized among the schools division in the region ready for the opening of classes amidst pandemic.

DepEd-Tagum successfully implemented blended education, raising the division’s banner in providing the best for learners.

"Mula noon hanggang ngayon kayo ang kasama namin sa DepEd," Fadul said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Josefina Palaca, chief of the Schools Governance Operation Division, welcomed the participants and underscored the significance of partnership in education.

“Partnerships have become an important paradigm in delivering and achieving development goals and services. Through partnerships, all the necessary stakeholders get involved to address the immediate needs of our learners and invest to help bridge the gaps in the field of education,” she said.

Present during the event were the partners and representatives of Mayor Allan Rellon, Vice Mayor Eva Lorraine Estabillo, Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (Nordeco), China Bank Savings, City Savings Bank, East West Rural Bank, Tagum Coop, 2nd Infantry Cavalry Armor Batallion, Soroptimist International, HOPE Radio, and DXDN Tagum.

Recognition of Top Performing Schools in terms of Number of Partners and Resources Generated also took place, where Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School and Canocotan were declared as Top Performing Schools followed by Visayan Village Central Elementary School.
