THE rehabilitation of the Lazatin Flyover along the Jose Abad Santos in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga is set by the first quarter of 2022.

The 195-linear-meter modular steel type flyover, which was built in 2012, has been a subject of concern from motorists due to its “worn out” condition.

According to Department of Public Works and Highways-Central Luzon Director Roseller Tolentino, the agency is now in coordination with the project contractor and the City Government for the rehabilitation of the infrastructure.

“Nakikipagcoordinate na sa atin iyong contractor doon sa project para mapalitan na iyong mga steel plates doon sa Lazatin flyover para sa safety ng ating motorists,” he said.

Tolentino did not provide an exact date on when the repair works will start but said that it is eyed by March of this year.

Meanwhile, Tolentino said a temporary ban of heavy vehicles on the flyover may be implemented during and even after the rehabilitation.

“Problema talaga natin iyong malalaking trucks so kailangan ireduce muna natin sila, sa baba na muna padaanin para mapalitan natin iyong mga plates at masiguro ang condition ng infrastructure,” he said.
