Active Covid cases in Cagayan de Oro rise to 2,381

THE City Health Office reported on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, that Cagayan de Oro logged 189 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The increase in the number of new cases recorded in the city in the past few days brought the number of active infections to 2,381, of which 474 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and other hospitals in the city, 1,844 were outpatients, and 63 were returning overseas Filipinos/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs).

According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, of the 189 new cases, one was an LSI, and 188 were local transmissions.

Among the 188 new local cases, 148 were local index cases, 19 were local cases with link, 19 were authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one Apor with link.

The city also recorded one mortality.

The cumulative number of infections in the city was at 23,467.

The city also registered 78 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 20,211.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 875.
