A SENIOR officer was assigned to the Army’s 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (ID) while a junior officer of the same command was promoted to the next higher rank.

Assigned to the 1ID is Colonel Eddie Pilapil, the former chief of staff of the Philippine Army’s Headquarters.

Pilapil said his assignment with the 1ID is a dream fulfilled.

He committed to being an effective, reliable, and relevant member of “Team Tabak.”

Promoted to the rank of captain was First Lieutenant Ian Noel Calopez.

Brigadier General Jose Randolf Sino Cruz, 1ID assistant division commander, pinned the rank of Captain to Calopez in a simple donning of rank ceremony that followed after the flag ceremony Monday, January 30, 2022, at the grandstand of the command.

Calopez said his promotion to the next higher grade motivates him to strive more and always give his best for the service.

“I will always perform based on the standard set by the Army’s premier Division,” Calopez vowed. (SunStar Zamboanga)
