THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula has promoted two senior police officers to the next higher rank.

Promoted to the ranks of police colonel were Police Lieutenant Colonels Eduard Mallo and Alikhan Yusop, chief of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division and Regional Information and Communications Technology Division, respectively.

Police Brigadier General Franco Simborio, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, led the donning of ranks ceremony of the two promoted officers Monday, January 31, at the Bigkis Lahi Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan, home of the regional headquarters in Mercedes village, Zamboanga City.

The loved ones of Mallo and Yusop assisted Simborio during the ceremony, which was witnessed by other officers and personnel of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula.

“Promotion is something earned, it is not given freely or openly to anyone or everyone. To deserve this, one must work hard and prove that indeed one is deserving for such promotion,” Simborio said.

“Earning a promotion allows you to take on new responsibilities and complex task that challenge you to grow in your career. Completing the higher-level tasks can allow you to develop more skills and abilities that you can apply towards future positions,” Simborio added.

Police Colonel Joselito Borja, officer-in-charge of the Regional Chaplain Service-Zamboanga Peninsula, blessed the rank insignias of the two promoted officers before the ceremony. (SunStar Zamboanga)
