Pampanga laymen endorse Robredo, Pangilinan

THE Laikko-Pampanga, a group of Catholic lay leaders in the parishes under the Archdiocese of San Fernando, officially expressed its support to the presidential and vice presidential bids of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, respectively.

The endorsement was made official through a letter signed by group Lead Convenor James Jesus Pasamonte and Archdiocesan Council of the Laity Banjo Serrano, which was released to the public via its official Facebook Page on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

The group said its decision came after "a week of prayer, study, dialogue and reflection" from January 19 to 26.

The group penned an in-depth analysis of each candidate's trustworthiness based on character, competence, commitment and compliance to the rule of law according to their track records, pronouncements, and platform of governance.

"With open heart and mind through the aid of the Holy Spirit, we studied thoroughly the present and future areas of poverty, health, education, governance and also the use of false and wrong information in the propaganda of different persons and sectors in society,'' the letter read.

The group has committed themselves "to promote the campaign for good governance and responsible citizenship and to combat the false and fake information so that the truth will prevail."
