ONE of the 17 villages in San Luis town, Pampanga is getting an incentive for being able to achieve population protection towards herd immunity against Covid-19 before 2021 ended.
Barangay Sta. Cruz Poblacion in this town will be receiving a brand new ambulance and a P1-million fund for any project from the local government unit (LGU), announced the LGU on its official social media page.
In June 2021, the local government announced that it will give away ambulances and P1-million funds for each village that will achieve population protection, or 70 percent of its eligible population, before December 2021.
As of January 31, 14 villages in San Luis have already reached or achieved population protection, but Sta. Cruz Poblacion had the highest percentage of vaccine recipients with 91 percent.
The incentivization of barangays achieving population protection is one of the programs initiated by the LGU to expedite the rollout of vaccines in the town.
It can be remembered that the LGU also launched the "Baka Para Sa Bakuna" program, which raffles off a live cow to a vaccinated resident monthly.
