Veep: Tofa recipients inspiration to Filipinos

PRESIDENTIALaspirant Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday, February 4, 2022, described the recipients of this year’s The Outstanding Fernandino Award (TOFA) as inspiration to many Filipinos.

Robredo, who served as guest of honor and speaker during the awarding ceremony, thanked the awardees for going beyond what is expected of them to bring change to the community.

“You are inspiration to all of us, especially us public servants because you embody the ideals and values that all of us hold here,” she said.

Robredo added that the awardees exhibited the aspirations for a public servant who is serving without limit even without public office.

“From a grateful nation, we would like to congratulate all the awardees for showing us the greatness of spirit and for the inspiration you are giving us,” she said.

The presidential bet likewise commended the City Government of San Fernando led by Mayor Edwin Santiago for “leading San Fernando to greater heights.”

“Bawat bisita ko sa San Fernando, parating may bago and it is a visual representation of the unity and hard work not just of the City Government but all the people of San Fernando,” she said.

Meanwhile, this year’s Tofa recipients include Dr. Romelei Sanchez Camiling-Alfonso for the field of Medicine; Jefferson Timbang-Daving for the field of Civil Service; Conrado Guanzon-Garcia for the field of Senior Citizens Service; Benefredo Licup Guinto for the field of Media; Jean Paulo Gomez Lacap for the field of Education; Dr. Melencia David Manalo for the field of Culture and Arts; Chito Santos Maniago for the field of Social Service; Engr. Felixberto Tuazon Paras for the field of Community Service; Romero-Cruz Family for the field of Parenthood and Family; Maria Luisa Ramos Tolentino for the field of Business; and Earl Pagsuguiron Tongol for the field of Youth Service.

Tofa is an award-giving body that recognizes exemplary citizens from the City of San Fernando who excelled in their respective fields.

Santiago said that Tofa recipients may serve as a facade of hope, inspiration and success to Fernandinos and Kapampangans who struggle amidst the pandemic.

“Ang Tofa 2022 ay simbulo mg tagumpay, pag-asa at pagkakaisa. Tagumpay para sa LGU, sa siyudad at higit sa lahat, sa lahat ng indibidwal na nagpamalas mg angking galing at malasakit sa kapwa para mapatunayan na sila ay Fernandino na may puso at may takot sa Diyos. Sila ay Fernandino with a purpose,” Santiago said.
