THE Army’s 15th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (CMOBn) based in the province of Sulu is now under new leadership.

Installed as the new 15CMOBn commander is Major Emmerson Ian Borja, who replaced Major Chantel May Tingzon, the unit’s acting commander.

Major General William Gonzales, 11th Infantry Division commander, presided over the change of command ceremony Thursday, February 3, held at Camp General Teodulfo Bautista in Bus-Bus village, Jolo, the capital town of Sulu.

The 15CMOBn was activated on December 1, 2019, to aid the government forces' peace campaign in Sulu.

The battalion is currently operating the 100.7 Megahertz “Bainglasahun” Radio-FM stationed in Bud Bayug, Talipao, Sulu.

“Bainglasahun” is the moniker of the 15CMOBn, which means “to be loved.”

Gonzales lauded the remarkable accomplishments of the 15CMOBn under the guidance of Tingzon.

Gonzales reiterated that CMO operators are indispensable in winning the fight against terrorism. (SunStar Zamboanga)
