THE Zamboanga City Government rolled out starting Wednesday, February 2, 2022, the distribution of birthday cash gifts to senior citizens.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the grant of birthday cash incentives is pursuant to Ordinance 466 and is facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in collaboration with the City Treasurer's Office (CTO).
Salazar said close to 1,500 beneficiaries received their birthday cash gifts on Thursday, February 3, the second day of the distribution in different venues.
Salazar said the recipients on the second day were the villages of Zone I, Zone II, Zone III, Mariki, Rio Hondo, Sta. Barbara, Kasanyangan and Campo Islam.
She said entitled to receive the birthday cash incentive are senior citizens who are registered members of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines-Zamboanga City chapter.
Based on Ordinance 466, senior citizens will receive different amounts per bracket: P500 for ages 60 to 69; P700 for ages 70 to 79; P800 for ages 80 to 90; P1,500 for ages 91 to 94 and P2,000 for ages 95 to 99. (SunStar Zamboanga)
