Valentine’s Day dining updates in Cebu

Valentine’s Day is only a week away, and if you’re one of those who like to outdo themselves each year to make their Valentine feel extra special, some of Cebu’s hotels and resorts can help you out.

And because Valentine’s Day is for everyone and love should be celebrated in all its forms, there’s something for all of us, regardless of relationship status.

Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort

The resort starts off with a weekend pre-Valentine’s dinner buffet dubbed “Single Lives Matter.”

Go with your friends or family and enjoy a round of sparkling wine with the buffet spread. Vincent Eco will serenade guests.

On Feb. 14, couples can share a four-course dinner with a glass of sparkling wine at the Allegro trellis or poolside area. Room accommodations also come with a romantic candle-lit dinner on the veranda just outside of the room.

Go all the way with a seven-course dinner, wine and a personal waiter on standby in any of these romantic settings: beachfront, picnic grove or the Amuma Pavilion.

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu

Cafe Marco has a special Valentine feast prepared from Feb. 11 to 15. The highlight is the international buffet that has earned it awards. Room packages are also on offer and each comes with daily breakfast for two and chocolate and wine served in-room.

Cebu Parklane International Hotel

The hotel’s al fresco specialty restaurant Kan-anan recently reopened for lunch and dinner. A live acoustic band is there to entertain diners on Fridays and Saturdays.

Kan-anan serves Cebuano dishes and specializes in sutukil (sugba, tula, kilaw). Guests can have their favorite fresh seafood including shrimps and crabs with meats such as chichen and pork, cooked the way they want for a fixed rate.

Heirloom dishes from different parts of Cebu are also on offer. These are part of the hotel’s “Sangka sa Kaha” series, a live cook-out which it organized together with some of the towns of Cebu province.

Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu

Hearty flavors await at Quest not just on Hearts Day but from Feb. 13 to 15. Its international buffet will feature ribeye steak, whole baked salmon and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
