TRANSPORTATION Secretary Arthur P. Tugade has underscored public safety, especially on national highways.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) chief issued the statement during the recent launching of Land
Transportation Office (LTO) Central Command Center (C3) equipped with CitiSend mobile app.
Tugade said C3 may help in addressing and resolving motor vehicle-related crimes and road crashes with the aid of incident reporting through the said application.
"Sa tulong ng imprastrakturang ito at kapag ginamit mo itong app na CitiSend, magkakaroon ka ng ugnayan direkta sa LTO kung saan bibigyan ng solusyon at atensiyon ang mga nangyayari na nakakaapekto sa seguridad at safety ng publiko," the official said.
"There is no substitute to safety. Itong instrumento na ito ay isang magandang system kung saan makakatulong ito sa pagganap at pagbago ng safety sa ating mga kalsada," Tugade added.
The LTO serves as the central nerve of the agency's operation and law enforcement through surveillance, coordination and alarm monitoring.
Tugade lauded the LTO for launching innovative programs that limit human intervention through digitation.
"Saludo ako sa inyo dahil binigyan ninyong patotoo ang programang Digitation sapagkat dito mawawala ang tinatawag na interventionof human hands. Ang mananaig at magpapalaganapay teknolohiya," he said.
