4 officers, 4 personnel received merit medal

FOUR officers and four personnel were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan (Merit Medal) for exemplary and devotion to duty.

The awarding of medal forms part of the 31st Philippine National Police (PNP) founding anniversary celebration coinciding with the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan, home of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula headquarters in Zamboanga City.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said that Police Captain Abdullah Jamiri and Police Corporal Jemar Causal were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for their exemplary performance and devotion to duty during the service of warrant of arrest on January 14, 2022 at General Vicente Alvarez Street in Zone 4 village, Zamboanga City that resulted in the arrest of Aldamir Sajirin, a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).

Police Lieutenant Jennifer Buco and Police Patrolman Damar Nabua received Medalya ng Kagalingan for their exemplary performance and devotion to duty during the implementation of warrant of arrest on January 16, 2022 in Nonoyan village, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte that resulted in the arrest of Ottoh Saililla (Most Wanted Person National Level) for multiple murder.

Police Major Xyronne Caronan and Police Corporal Jez Dimmer Lingcodo were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for their exemplary performance and devotion to duty during the implementation of warrant of arret on January 4, 2022 at F.L. La Peña village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay that resulted in the arrest of Jessie Monterola, member of Balimbingan Crime Group and top 7 Most Wanted Person (Regional Level) for the crime of multiple murder.

Police Lieutenant Jumar Nabua and Police Corporal Kenneth Jabonete were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for their exemplary performance and devotion to duty during the implementation of warrant of arrest on January 21, 2022 in Tandung Ahas village, Lamitan City, Basilan that resulted in the arrest of Abdul Latip Yaser for the crime of murder, two-count frustrated murder and three-count attempted murder.

Chang said the awarding of medal was followed by the Wreath Laying Ceremony in honor of the late Police Colonel Concordio Apolonio Jr., the former Regional Logistics and Research Development Division chief.
