DHVSU inaugurates School of Law, Juris Doctor program

DON Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) officials led the inauguration of the state university’s School of Law and its new Juris Doctor program offering over the weekend.

The activity was led by DHVSU president Enrique Baking and founding dean Atty. David Robert C. Aquino.

The activity included a solemn blessing of the facilities and ocular visit of the three-storey building that will house the law school.

The law school building boasts a moot court, computer laboratory, library, faculty room and several lecture rooms and offices.

President Baking said the establishment of the law school at the university was the result of Republic Act (RA) 11169, or the law that expanded the state university's curricular offerings.

The law also changed the name of the university from DHVTSU to DHVSU.

"The opening of the Juris Doctor program, hopefully, within the year in our locality is a wish come true," he said.

Also present at the inauguration of the new program and facility were Pampanga Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Anti-Red Tape Authority Undersecretary Ernesto Perez, former Department of Agrarian Reform secretary Bro. John R. Castriciones, Legal Education Board Chairperson Anna Marie Melanie B. Trinidad, and faculty members of the DHVSU School of Law.
