Leo Rey Yanson still in control of RTMI

LEO Rey Yanson, the youngest of the six Yanson siblings, was reelected as chairman and president of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) during the annual stockholders' meeting on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Matriarch Olivia V. Yanson, who led the board election, was also reelected as corporate secretary and treasurer.

Reappointed as members of RTMI's Board of Directors were Olivia Yanson, Leo Rey Yanson, Ginnette Dumancas, Charles Dumancas, Rey Ardo, Anita Chua, and Daniel Nicolas Golez.

Leo Rey, as the reelected chair of the company, assured the riding public that they will continue to provide the most reliable means of public transportation for all amid the challenges of the pandemic.

According to a press statement of the RTMI, stockholders Roy Yanson, Ricardo Yanson Jr., and Ma. Lourdes Celina Lopez were absent despite the due notices sent to them.

The bus company further stated that they believe Roy, Celina and Ricardo are unable to attend the meeting because they are out of the country, together with their sister Emily Yanson.

A Bacolod City court, in an October 2021 decision, granted Olivia the mandate to oversee and administer the estate of her late husband Ricardo Yanson who co-founded with Olivia in 1968 the Yanson Group of Bus Companies.

RTMI is a public transport firm plying major routes in Mindanao. It is part of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies.
