Pangan: Through digitalization and ecosystem building

OUR style of life has been tremendously changed with the onset of technology and its bearings.

Our way of living has been fast-paced and exhilarating, and because everything can be done at the flick of a finger, we tend to overlook the consequences of our actions.

From published reports, digitization is the process of converting analog data into digital data using an analog-to-digital converter such as in an image scanner or digital audio recording.

Usage of digitization was high in the media, retail and technology industries. Other large companies have begun to use cloud hosting, social media, mobile devices and data analytics. Still, some companies used individual technologies for specific problems.

The digital transformation has undergone several processes and its now users have initially been reluctant to go with the shift. Then the game changer came: Covid-19. It has accelerated the world’s acceptance of digital adaptation, with people developing new and innovative ways to move on from their respective homes and have since relied on digital and mobile devices almost 24/7 of their lives.

More industries are now coming to good terms with digitization, like banking and healthcare industries.

There are benefits and advancements that digitization has brought us, but there are also drawbacks, cyber security threats being the most common.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon acknowledged that there is a provision in the law that requires all social media account providers to require the real name and phone number of users upon creation of an account.

But the wily scammers can always find loopholes to circumvent the prohibition. They are so tech-savvy that they can always put one over the regulators.

Said Senator Drilon: This new provision will prevent anyone from making anonymous accounts online so they could attack anyone endlessly and viciously.

Talaga lang, Senator Drilon? Let’s wait and see then.
