Castillo assumes as new Rebap president

THE Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines (Rebap)-Metro Bacolod chapter has its new president in the person of Ma. Jovita Castillo and had their turnover ceremonies held at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City on February 2, 2022.

She succeeded immediate past president Maricar Octaviano.

Castello accepted the responsibility to lead the association for the chapter year 2022.

As espoused in the organization's philosophy, Rebap is an organization of real estate brokers "who believes in the nobility of their profession, their business is the land-the patrimony of nations, the basis of wealth, handed down through generations," said Octaviano.

The association has over 189 practicing licensed real estate brokers with a common objective of maintaining the highest ethical standards in the practice of their profession, devoted to the common cause of uplifting the standards of real estate practice in the Philippines.

The Rebap national organization recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development to formalize their partnership for a nationwide crackdown against real estate scammers.

The intention, among others, is to stop the unlicensed practice of selling property, the group said.

Rebap Metro Bacolod past president Jose Luis Sanagustin, having been a member of the national board, was principally instrumental in the drafting of the agreement having chaired the organization's Advocacy Committee.

Rebap Metro Bacolod is among the more significant chapters in the organization's 40 branches nationwide.
