THE Toledo-Talisay Wharf Access Road which crosses Barangay Manipis in Talisay City will be partially closed to traffic starting Wednesday night, February 16, 2022, until early morning next day.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) said the temporary closure will start from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. daily.

The CT-TODA said it will eventually open the road starting 5 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Jonathan Tumulak, CT-TODA head, said the partial closure is aimed to allow the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to continue its benching project in the area.

Tumulak said the DPWH’s ongoing benching project in the area was temporarily halted when Typhoon Odette hit Cebu last year.

The project, which started last year, was supposed to prevent more landslides from occurring in the area.

Last year, the access road was besieged by several landslides due to heavy rains.

The access road, which is a known haven for leisure bikers, had to be closed several times due to landslides.

Tumulak urged residents there, especially those with vehicles, and travelers going to Toledo City to plan their trips ahead if they plan to use the road to get to their destination.
