EdLab riders group pays tribute to Labella

AROUND 2,600 motorcycle riders from the EdLab Riders group, majority of whom were motorcycle-for-hire or habal-habal drivers, paid tribute to the late Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella by visiting his tomb in Golden Haven Cemetery in Barangay Binaliw, Cebu City on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Edgar Peter Pohanes, founder and chairman of EdLab Riders, a group of supporters for Labella, said their visit served as a tribute to the late mayor on Valentine’s Day and Holy Week, adding this would be the first time for them to mark both occasions without the presence of Labella whom they supported in the 2019 election.

Labella's namesake and eldest son Edgardo "Jaypee" Labella II welcomed the EdLab riders and later accompanied them on their way back to Cebu City proper. (PAC, TPT)
