SENATOR Risa Hontiveros and Mayor Crisostomo Garbo have one thing in common, the prioritization of health care program.

The two officials discovered this when Hontiveros visited Mabalacat City on Tuesday, February 15.

Garbo and the other local officials welcomed the senator at the city hall Tuesday morning.

Both of them had increased their appropriations for medical programs to help many indigent people.

The mayor also informed Hontiveros that the City Government is planning to build a modern city hall in Barangay Mabiga.

"Once I am reelected, we are planning to transfer. We purchased a 2.1 hectare of land at the middle of our city along the MacArthur Highway," Garbo told Hontiveros.

The mayor said the proposed venue of the new city hall is only 500 meters away from the new terminal of Clark International Airport.

Hontiveros admired the architectural design of the proposed city hall inspired by old government structures in the Philippines and other countries. The senator had implemented infrastructure programs like roads in Mabalacat City in 2021.

The fourth floor of the city hall will house the Bulwagan ng Kababaihan and the third floor will be used by the City Council.

The local executive department, including the Mayor's Office, will be located at the second floor, according to Garbo.

The first floor will be utilized as business one stop shop, the mayor told Hontiveros.

Garbo also told the reelectionist senator that the seat of the government is the window of the city.

"Kung nakikita mo parang walang kaayusan, paano [papasok] ang mga mamumuhunan," he said.
