Barmm builds P231-M housing project in Midsayap

THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through the Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (Kapyanan), is constructing 350 units core shelters worth P231 million in Midsayap, Barmm’s Special Geographical Area (SGA) in North Cotabato.

This came as Kapyanan has approved the construction of 350-unit of core shelters, with solar-powered light, water system component, solar street lights, and linear canal system for 350 families in seven villagesin Midsayap.

"This is the first time of Kapyanan to implement housing project in Midsayap and in SGA," said Engineer Abdulnasser Usman, deputy project manager.

"We are happy because our place has been affected by war in the past and now, we are receiving housing, which is first of its kind. With that, we are thankful to the Barmm government," said Peng Lakiman, 59, one of the beneficiaries in Kadingilan village, Midsayap.

"This area was a battle zone, the housing projects have great impact to the beneficiaries, especially to the poor residents, somehow they will soon to have decent houses," Kadingilan Village Chief Saiden Alim added.

Alim noted that 50 units of core shelters are allotted to Kadingilan village for 50 families. Each unit roughly costs P600,000.

The Kapyanan is a special program of Barmm Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim aimed to provide decent housing to the poor communities in the autonomous region. (SunStar Zamboanga)
