Stars share experiences, insights on love and life

ACTRESSES Barbie Imperial, Elisse Joson, Loisa Adalio and Maris Racal shared their love and life experiences during the Valentine’s Day media conference for their latest starrer, “The Goodbye Girl.”

The series is streaming on iWantTFC and will run until Feb. 19.

Together with Angelica Panganiban (in the title role), the ladies star in the original series which delves on the heartaches they felt and how they struggle for “healing after facing rejection, indifference and pain” and at the same time “illustrates the five types of heartbroken women while sharing valuable lessons on how to conquer heartbreak and coming out of it stronger, wiser and better.”

Noreen Capili, the author of the book of the same title, said that the series is a story of “all people.”

“The greatest equalizer in life is heartache,” Capili said.

Director Derick Cabrido described his project as “light and relatable to everybody” and that each episode has a lesson.

Maris is grateful for having Rico Blanco as boyfriend in real life. She said Rico values mental health, and being understanding to each other brings good things to their relationship.

Loisa admits real-life boyfriend Ronnie Alonte is important in her life. Elisse allows things to happen “in God’s perfect time.”

Barbie advises to learn to let go if things are not good anymore for self-love and self-care. She added that it is important that no changes to life will happen despite getting into a relationship.

Maris said that the age gap between her and her bf provides different levels of experiences. Her advice to other girls is not to allow bf to hinder growth and to focus on one’s self.

Maris stressed the importance of communication in a relationship while Loisa emphasized the necessity of being aware of each other’s limits. On the veracity of the line “love is lovelier the second time around,” Barbie admitted never getting into a relationship again with an ex-bf citing that the guy should have done his best while he still had the opportunity.

“The Goodbye Girl” starts with Angelica’s character Yanna who was dumped by her husband Y (RK Bagatsing). This led her to turn to social media to livestream her miserable situation.

This gave rise to Yanna’s realization of her new purpose in life which is to give online advice to people who had similar experiences.

The four other characters emerged: Kiera (Barbie) as “The Other Girl” being the mistress of married man Franco (Turs Daza), Ria (Maris) as “The Bitter Hopia” who gets mixed signals in her relationship with band member Caio (Rico Blanco). Julia (Elisse) as “The Legally Blind”—the hopeful bride-to-be of womanizer Ean (Joshua Colet).

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and Clever Minds Inc., “The Goodbye Girl” streams on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and website (iwanttfc.com).
