Troops rehab road in Sulu

SECURITY forces are rehabilitating a road linking two villages to provide residents in the area safer travel in the province of Sulu.

The rehabilitation works cover 5,789 meters of road from Kamuntayan to Upper Sinumaan village in Talipao, according to Brigadier General Antonio Bautista Jr., Joint Task Force (JTF)-Sulu acting commander.

Bautista said the completion of the rehabilitation works will benefit some 500 residents, especially those in Sitios Timpuad and Gulangan in Upper Sinumaan in transporting their farm produce to the market.

He said the rehabilitation of the road symbolizes the continuous progression of peace in Talipao that leads to the betterment of the residents' way of life.

Bautista said the rehabilitation project is expected to finish in four weeks.

The project is jointly undertaken by the municipal government of Talipao, troops of the 1101st Infantry Brigade under Brigadier General Eugenio Boquio, 2nd Special Forces Battalion, 545th Engineer Battalion, and Sulu First District Engineering Office. (SunStar Zamboanga)
