THE Philippine Army has assigned two new officers to its premier command First Infantry "Tabak" Division (ID), which is based in Zamboanga del Sur.
Major Karen Leleth Dipaling and Captain Carlito Cariño Jr. were officially introduced after the flag raising ceremony Monday, February 21, at Camp Major Cesar Sang-an, home of the 1ID in Upper Pulacan village, Labangan.
They were welcomed by Brigadier General Jose Randolph Sino Cruz, 1ID assistant division commander, who also led the pinning of the Tabak patch to the two officers during a simple ceremony.
Dipaling, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2006, was assigned with the 7th Regional Community Defense Group (7RCDG) of the Army Reserve Command (Arescom) before her assignment to the 1ID.
Cariño is not new with 1ID as he spent almost two years as Fire Support Officer of 101st and 103rd Infantry Brigade from 2017 to 2020.
The 101st Infantry Brigade is based in Basilan province, while the 103rd Infantry Brigade is in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Cariño, a member of PMA Class of 2011, was assigned with the 9RCDG, Arescom, before his assignment to the 1ID.
Sino Cruz advised the two officers to perform their duty to the best of the ability. (SunStar Zamboanga)
