'Drug personality' shot dead in Duljo-Fatima

A 37-YEAR-OLD man allegedly involved in illegal drug activities was shot dead on Spolarium Street, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City past 1 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Joseph Fernandez "Jepjep" Gempisao of Sitio Micabaja of the said barangay, died instantly after sustaining multiple bullet wounds in the body, according to Corporal Mark Anthony Dela Victoria of Mambaling Police Station 11.

A minor girl was also hit by a stray bullet.

Dela Victoria said that Gempisao was shot several times by a motorcycle backrider that led to his death.

Personnel from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered from the scene nine spent shells of .45 pistol, cellphone owned by the victim and P1,147 cash.

Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, Cebu City Police Office Deputy Director for Operations, said the Mambaling police are gathering additional information about the illegal drug activity of the victim.

Police investigators are considering personal grudge or illegal drugs as possible motive in the killing. (BBT, TPT)
