A COUPLE died one after the other in a vehicular accident in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday, March 1.
Police Lieutenant Leah May Alameda, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. Monday, February 28, along the Maria Clara Lobregat Highway in Culianan village, Zamboanga City.
Alameda identified the fatalities as Marlvick Saavedra, 23, and his wife, Jaymalyn, 26.
Investigation showed that the couple, who was aboard a motorcycle, was bumped by an over speeding passenger vehicle while they were making a turn to the other side of the road.
Alameda said the passenger vehicle, driven by Noel Manalo, 36, was traveling toward to the city proper at the time of the accident.
Jaymalyn died on the spot, while Marlvick was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. (SunStar Zamboanga)
