CCCI names new officers, CBM 2022 chairperson

ENTREPRENEUR Charles Kenneth Co has been elected as the new president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

He is the 50th president of the 119-year-old business organization. He succeeded Felix Taguiam who served as the chamber president since 2020.

Co has been active in various chamber roles.

He served as the vice president for membership development/chamber growth in 2020, vice president for external affairs and relations division in 2018 and the overall chairman of Cebu Business Month in 2017. He also served the Chamber as a trustee in 2016.

A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Management at Ateneo de Manila–University, Co is currently the assistant to the president of Cebu Steel Corp.

He also served as the assistant to the president of Cebu Overseas Hardware, and treasurer of the Cebu Contractors Association.

Joining Co are the newly elected officers and trustees.

Melita Ramons, president and finance manager for Cebu Supergo Products Corp., was elected as vice president for finance and administrative services.

Alice Queblatin, president of Cebu Alliance of Tour Operators Specialists, was elected as vice president for external affairs and relations/business advocacy and policy.

Lawyer Tomas Riveral, chairman and chief executive officer of Oriental Port and Allied Services Corp., was elected vice president for membership development/chamber growth.

Jay Yuvallos, president of Interior Basic Export Corp., was elected vice president for business development.

Aaron Jeremy Que, executive vice president of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites and Golden Valley Hotel, was elected as the chamber’s vice president for Cebu business mobilization.

Ma. Aleta dela Calzada, designer and managing proprietor and founder of A.T.E. by Tatah Clothier, was elected as board secretary while Joyce So, first vice president and head, Visayas Banking Center I of Security Bank Corp., was elected as the chamber’s treasurer.

Joseph Tanco, founder and senior partner of Tanco and Partners Law Offices, will serve as the chamber’s legal counsel.

Meanwhile, CCCI picked Brigitte Carmel Lim as the new Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2022 overall chairperson.

She chaired the CBM’s tourism activities in 2021.

CBM is CCCI’s annual flagship project. The month-long event has usually been celebrated in June for the past 23 years. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the business activity was moved to the virtual platform and last year, the chamber extended the business celebration into six months.

Lim is the vice president for operations of Topline Group of Companies. Born in Ozamiz, Misamis Occidental, she finished her college studies in UP Cebu for a BA degree in Political Science and Centre for International Education for a BA degree in Business Management. Her family owns Island Central Mall in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
