2 nabbed, P114,000 shabu seized

TWO people were arrested while more than P100,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in two separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as Mansul Jamirun, 29, and Romeo Simosa, 22.

Lorenzo said Jamirun was arrested by joint police and military operatives in an anti-drug operation around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Curuan village, Zambanga City.

He said seized from Jamirun were some 10 grams of suspected shabu packed in 14 heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P68,000 and P200 marked money.

Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Simosa was arrested in another anti-drug operation at a public cemetery in San Roque village, Zamboanga City, according to Lorenzo.

Lorenzo said Simosa was arrested in possession of 6.8 grams of suspected shabu worth P46,240, P200 marked money, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

He said the two arrested suspects were detained while charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
