Pangan: Need to evaluate

THE 2022 election is fast approaching and we don’t have the luxury of time to procrastinate on our choices of officials to elect.

May 9, 2022 will be part of our history, which will witness the exercise of our right to suffrage. It is on us that we make the right to choose the officials who will run the country for six years for national positions and three years for the local posts.

We often make hasty and erroneous decisions in our choice of elective positions. After their terms, we normally blame ourselves for the underperforming officials and those who have performed badly. Well?

We still have about three months to evaluate thoroughly the platforms of government the six major contenders for president and the same number of vice presidential aspirants. I assume that by now, by virtue of their personal appearances and speeches, we can adequately gauge the right candidates we ought to vote.

Let us not be persuaded by the so-called surveys. For all we know, these have been initiated and commissioned by the moneyed candidates. On the contrary, let us pay attention to their track record of public service and their qualifications.
