THE Department of Agriculture (DA) turned over some farm inputs to ornamental growers of Guiguinto, Bulacan on March 1, 2022 in support to the Philippine Ornamental Industry and its stakeholders.
The distribution was led by Agriculture Undersecretary for High Value Crops and Rural Credit Evelyn G. Laviña.
The total allocated intervention was around P2 million, including 20 rolls fine mesh net for greenhouse nursery, 30 rolls sunshade net, 1,000 packs seedling bags, 810 sacks rice hull, 100 pieces pruning shears and 40 cubic meters garden soil.
The distribution was funded under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP).
Regional Executive Director Crispulo G. Bautista Jr., Christine Joy Corpuz and Glarissa Balbarez of High Value Crops and Development Program took part in the activity in which they awarded the said interventions to Garden City Multipurpose Cooperative.
Laviña is calling on ornamental growers to come up with a plan in order to justify the funding of ornamental planting.
The said activity was also made possible in coordination with Provincial Government of Bulacan and Municipal Government of Guiguinto.
