3 nabbed in Zamboanga del Sur anti-drug operations

THE police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested three people and seized more than P45,000 worth of illegal drugs in Zamboanga del Sur, an official announced Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Police Colonel Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police director, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Jay Carolasan Alquizar, 38; Roace Singco Laurente, 36; and Julius Lascuña Baito, 49.

Albarico said Alquizar was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Bay View in Santa Maria village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Seized from Alquizar were some P13,600 worth of suspected shabu, cellular phone, identification cards, a four-wheel vehicle, an eyeglass case and P500 marked money.

Laurente was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in Purok Makugihon, Santo Niño village, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, according to Albarico.

He said recovered from Laurent were some P1,020 worth of suspected shabu, a cellular phone and P500 marked money.

Laurente said Baito was caught in possession of some P30,600 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in Purok Makabibihag, Balangasan village, Pagadian City.

He said also recovered from Baito were a cellular phone and P500 marked money.

Laurente said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
