POLICEMEN seized some P210,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes while conducting security patrol in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, an official announced Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said the smuggled cigarettes were seized around 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, along the highway in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Lorenzo said the personnel of the ZCPO’s Station 6 were conducting surveillance when they chanced upon an unattended tricycle covered with a blanket.

He said the tricycle was loaded with some six master cases of smuggled cigarettes worth P210,000 when the patrolling policemen inspected the vehicle.
