A SENIOR officer of the 1st Infantry "Tabak" Division (ID), the premier command of the Philippine Army, was promoted to a rank higher and welcomed a junior officer into the command.
Promoted to the rank of Colonel is Lieutenant Colonel Noel Abello, and assigned to the 1ID is Captain Rey Jude Dagohoy.
Major General Generoso Ponio, 1ID commander, donned the new rank insignia to Abello during Monday's (March 7) flag-rasing ceremony at Camp Major Cesar Sang-an, home of the 1ID headquarters in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
Abello thanked his family, colleagues, and senior officers who motivated and supported him in all his endeavors. He had been assigned to the 1ID since 2019.
Meanwhile, Ponio pinned the Tabak patch to Dagohoy, who officially joined "Team Tabak."
Dagohoy was with the 7ID prior to his assignment to the 1ID.
Abello and Dagohoy belong to the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1997 and 2014, respectively. (SunStar Zamboanga)
