San Fernando local government pushes for sustainable tourism development

THE local government unit of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga (CSFP), headed by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, staged a tourism-related establishments’ forum on March 10, 2022, at Heroes Hall.

Owners and managers of different hotels, restaurants and resorts attended the forum initiated by the City Tourism and Investment Promotion Office, in coordination with the Department of Tourism (DOT)-Central Luzon and Hotels and Restaurants Association in Pampanga (Harp).

Highlights of the discussion were ways to strengthen the tourism industry of the capital city as it is one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Realyn Manalo, DOT-Central Luzon Tourism Operations officer, stressed the importance of the DOT Accreditation program, while Matt De Castro, president of HARP 2022, discussed the functions of the association.

Marco Antonio “Jim” Jimenez, CSFP Arts Culture and Tourism Council chairperson, thanked the participants for sharing their vision to revitalize tourism in the capital city.

City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan, for the City’s part, vowed to remain steadfast in assisting and providing sustainable plans and programs for all tourism-related establishments through the support of the local government. (PR)
