SEVEN of the nine candidates are set to deliberate over domestic policies and accountability in government as they participate in the vice-presidential debates to be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay City.

Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said domestic policy and government accountability will be the topics in the second edition of the PiliPinas Debate 2022 series organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Confirmed to attend are Walden Bello, Rizalito David, Manny Lopez, Willie Ong, Kiko Pangilinan, Carlos Serapio, and Senate President Tito Sotto.

Having formally declined participation due to medical reasons was Lito Atienza.

Presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio was the lone vice presidential bet who has not confirmed attendance.

As of Saturday, Garcia said Duterte-Carpio has yet to submit a written refusal to attend the debates.

Duterte-Carpio has publicly said she will not participate in any debates ahead of Election Day.

On Saturday, the Comelec held the first of the debate series involving presidential candidates.
