A BUSINESSWOMAN was killed in a gun attack in a remote village of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Monday, March 21, 2022.
Police Colonel Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Purok 4, Sinaguing village, Ramon Magsaysay town.
Albarico identified the victim as Emily Ramillano Barrientos, 36, who succumbed to three gunshot wounds.
Investigation showed the victim was inside her store when repeatedly shot with a caliber .45 pistol by a lone gunman who pretended to buy cigarettes.
Albarico said the victim died on the spot and two spent shells of caliber .45 pistol were found at the crime scene.
He said a thorough investigation is being conducted to identify, locate and arrest the suspect. (SunStar Zamboanga)
