Barmm distributes tractors to farmers' groups

THE Office of the Chief Minister in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (Tabang), released on Thursday, March 24, seven units of tractors to farmers' groups in Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur.

The seven units are part of the 15 tractors worth P43.5 million Barmm has procured to be given to farmers' association in the autonomous region.

The recipients of the seven units of tractors released Thursday, March 24, are the farmer associations from the towns of Sultan Kudarat, Mamasapano, Rajah Buayan, Sultan sa Barongis, Ampatuan, Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao; and, Malabang in Lanao del Sur.

Mohammad Asnur Pendatun, Project Development Officer III, said each tractor will be used by five association beneficiaries.

The remaining eight units will be turned over to the other beneficiaries next week.

Pendatun said the tractors are part of Project Tabang’s livelihood program dubbed as Oplan Bangsamoro Rapid Assistance (Obra).

"This Obra is part of the recovery plan ng Tabang sa Bangsamoro residents, especially (on the) farmers, fisherfolk, and women sectors, to cope cushion the effect of the health pandemic," Pendatun said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
