PUBLIC schools in Bacolod City that have already applied for the conduct of limited face-to-face (F2F) classes can now start preparing their classrooms, an official said.

Councilor Renecito Novero, chairperson of the City Council committee on education, said he already forwarded to the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) the list of the 14 public elementary and secondary schools that have complied with the requirements.

These schools included Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Rafael Alunan Elementary School, Teofilo Gensoli Sr. National High School, Emilia J. Garcia Elementary School, Negros Occidental High School, Romanito Maravilla Jr. National High School, Alberto D. Arceo Sr. Elementary School, Luis Hervias National High School, Cabug National High School, Andres Bonifacio II Elementary School, Paglaum National High School, Angela Gonzaga National High School, Emiliano Lizares National High School, and Corazon L. Montelibano Elementary School.

Novero said the applications of these schools were earlier approved by the members of the City Council.

“I think there’s no [more] problem with their applications and the EOC will also approve it. So, they can now begin the preparation of their classrooms for the limited F2F classes,” the official said.

He said that once the EOC will release the documents, the schools can then start the classes.

In February, the Department of Education Division of Bacolod piloted the resumption of limited F2F classes at Alangilan National High School in Barangay Alangilan.

Novero said the schools can also apply to hold in-person graduation rites since the city maintained its Alert Level 1 status.
