Ched readies for F2F classes in Zamboanga

A TOP official of the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) announced that they are preparing for the conduct of face-to-face classes for the tertiary level in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Dr. Rody Garcia, Ched regional director, said the colleges and universities in city or provinces under Alert Level 1 are allowed to conduct 100 percent face-to-face classes per Ched Memorandum 004 series of 2022.

However, only Zamboanga City is under Alert Level 1, as the other areas in the region remain under Alert Level 2 based on the latest resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Garcia said all colleges and universities must comply with the requirements before they are allowed to participate in the face-to-face classes.

Garcia said the requirements include a permit from the IATF and the master list of the students who must be fully vaccinated.

He said the students are also required to enroll with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

He said the parents and students have also the discretion to participate or not in face-to-face classes, or through the current modular program. (SunStar Zamboanga)
