THE Mabalacat City Government, led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino, inaugurated the new and improved Mabalacat City Birthing Station on March 31, 2022.

The facility located in Madapdap Resettlement Center has been offering free maternal and natal services to ensure the safety of Mabalaqueño mothers and infants during delivery and childbirth.

In his speech, Mayor Cris Garbo said the reopening of the birthing facility after months of renovation is part of his agenda in providing excellent health care and social services anchored in one of the pillars of his “Bayung Mabalacat” vision.

The mayor added that free birthing services are a part and parcel of his whole health and service program, which he intends to further improve if given a fresh mandate as local chief executive of the city.

According to Dr. Rosemarie Manalo-Liong, head of Mabalacat City Birthing Station, the reopening of the natal facility highlights the city’s celebration of Buntis Day, which aims to raise awareness of pregnancy-related issues and to instill the importance of pre-natal services among pregnant women to prevent maternal mortality.

The event, which was attended by Councilors Doc Cocoy Tiglao and Jun Castro, and Board Member Cherry Manalo, together with OIC of Birthing Station Dr. Rosemarie Manalo-Liong, CHO Head Dr. Claire Aquino, City Information Officer Jay Pelayo IV and rural health physicians, also marked the culmination of the 2022 National Women’s Month in Mabalacat City.
