THE Iloilo City Government encouraged everyone eligible to get vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) at District Health Centers (DHC), bringing the vaccines closer to residents and reaching out to more people.

Mayor Jerry Treñas supported the campaign of Department of Health to require booster shot as the vaccine efficacy lessens overtime.

He said kids’ vaccination is also important in preparation for opening of classes.

“Our vaccination for children is slow moving. We need to make sure they are vaccinated and safe when face to face classes open,” Treñas said.

This is open for all, including non-residents, and walk-in is allowed at DHCs near plazas Monday to Friday, preferably in the morning.

There is no more weekend vaccination, no more mega-sites at malls and no more drive-thru venues in the city.

Vaccines available are Pfizer for 5-11 and 12-17 for first and second doses at 21 days interval. There is no booster for minors, only adults.

Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate and guardian should also bring authorization letter signed by the child’s parent.

For adults 18 up, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac are available for first and second doses within one month interval and booster after three months.

Those who got single-dose Janssen may choose from the four brands for their booster after two months. Vaccinee should bring ID and vax card for second dose and own ballpen.

There is no Sputnik vaccine in the city.

The DHCs are Jaro 1 DHC – Plaza Jaro beside Fire Station; Jaro 2 DHC – Tagbac Gym beside Fire Station; La Paz DHC – beside La Paz Maternity; Lapuz/Bo. Obrero DHC; Sto. Rosario DHC – Sto. Rosario-Duran Multi-Purpose Hall and Tanza DHC in City Proper; Arevalo DHC – inside Arevalo Gym; Mandurriao DHC – beside Fire and Police Stations; and Molo DHC – Molo Plaza. (PR)
