4 Zamboanga del Norte farmers' groups receive P800,000 project

FOUR farmer cooperatives and associations in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte have received P800,000 worth of livelihood project from the Department of Agriculture, through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (Saad).

The P800,000 livelihood project was handed over Tuesday, April 5, to the identified recipient associations by Saad National Program Director Myer Mula in Siayan town.

The recipient associations are the Balok Consumers Cooperative, Dumpilas Consumers Cooperative, Domogok Consumers Cooperative, and Sayaw Consumers Cooperative.

They received Banana Production Project with 16,000 banana plantlets and 100 bags of vermicast, according to the DA-Zamboanga Peninsula office.

The livelihood intervention will be equally distributed to all 80 farmer cooperatives and associations members, having 20 active members per cooperative.

The intervention also can serve approximately 16 hectares of land area. (SunStar Zamboanga)
