Angeles government hosts copper bonsai artworks exhibit

THE Angeles City Government ere under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is conducting an exhibit featuring the copper bonsai artworks of a local artist, in pursuit of paying tribute to the city’s rich cultural arts.

Dubbed as Pamanulu Ning Yatu, the exhibit featuring the copper bonsai artworks of Andy Bondoc is also in line with the city government’s celebration of Earth Month. It is open to the public to visit at the SM City Clark from April 5 to 30, 2022.

Bondoc is a known artist in the province for his unique copper bonsai designs.

The event was graced by Vice Mayor Vicenta Vicky Vega Cabigting, Assistant Mall Manager Officer-in-Charge Lourdes Alarcon, City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, and Herminia Pamintuan, wife of Clark Development Corporation Chairman Edgardo Pamintuan.

On behalf of Lazatin, Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting congratulated the Tourism Office and Bondoc for making the exhibit possible, with the assistance of SM City Clark.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Vega-Cabigting also mentioned that the various exhibits being conducted by the city government is to help struggling artists get back on their feet amid the new normal setting and to recognize the significant contributions of women in the community.

She even cited the artworks of Bondoc, of how a resilient and hardworking artist he is, being also an instrument for fellow artists in introducing their works.

Bondoc and his wife, Bennylee Bondoc, are known as arts patrons and events organizers.

This is not the first time that the Lazatin administration hosted an exhibit. During the Women’s Month celebration, the city government conducted Óbrang Bábáyi exhibit, featuring the artworks of 19 Angeleña artists; while Diua ning Pamitipun, a visual art exhibit of 26 local artists, was hosted on November 22 to December 5, 2021.
