PORAC’S vice mayor aspirant and incumbent Councilor Francis Tamayo thanked Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda for reportedly throwing support to his candidacy.

Tamayo is the official candidate of Kambilan, the local political party of Pineda, in Porac town. He is also the running mate of re-electionist Mayor Jaime Capil.

“Maragul pu ing kapasalamatan ku kang Governor Delta at yaku pu ing mepili bilang opisyal a kandidatu na ning Kambilan para balen Porac (I am truly grateful to Governor Delta for choosing me as official candidate of Kambilan for Porac),” Tamayo said.

Tamayo, a first-term councilor, said the Pinedas are his inspirations in terms of public service.

“Meging inspirasyun ku la keng loyalty da kareng tawu, nung makananu lang menatad serbisyu. Ila ing menimuna keng pamagdagul kareng basic services ampo nung makananu yang i-atad ing serbisyu diretsu kareng memalen (They are my inspiration because of their loyalty to people and how they delivered basic services which are direct to constituents),” Tamayo said.

If elected as vice mayor, Tamayo vowed to maintain a harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative branches of the local town.

Tamayo also vowed to prioritize education by increasing the number of “Iskolar ng Bayan” beneficiaries.

“From the previous administration, 400 la mu reng scholars. Ngeni pu, atin tang 1,500 scholars,” Tamayo said.

Aside from education, he also wants to give priority to local transport groups, senior citizens, and farmers.

“Gawa tamu pung ordinansa na makasawup kareng sectors areni. Kalupa na nitang 20 percent discount kareng senior citizens, ali ya talaga ma—pu-fully implement keni Porac (We will craft ordinances to help different sectors and see to the full implementation of the 20 percent discount for senior citizens),” he said.

As for transport groups, Tamayo hopes to establish a “Pantawid Pasada” program for them.

As for farmers, Tamayo said he would create ordinances that would protect them and prioritize their children to receive educational scholarships.

Tamayo started his stint as public servant in 2007 when he was elected as Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of Barangay Palat.

In 2010, he ran for village councilman (kagawad) of the same village, and was able to serve for three terms until 2019. While serving as barangay kagawad, he was elected as Porac’s ABK President from 2013 to 2019.

In 2019, Tamayo ran for a seat in the Municipal Council and won the third spot.

Tamayo has been supportive of incumbent Mayor Capil’s vision of a renewed town through the campaign “Bayung Porac.”

Capil’s “Bayung Porac” complete slate under Kambilan includes Tamayo for vice mayor; Councilor and re-electionist Michelle Bengco-Santos; Barangay Palat Captain Bong Buan; Barangay Manibaug Paralaya Captain Adrian "Papay" Carreon; Barangay Pio and Model Community Captain Ayot Dimalanta; Barangay Pias Captain Noel Manalo; former Peso officer Sheryl Bulanadi; neophyte Engineer Joy David, daughter of Engineer Segnor David; and former Sangguniang Kabataan chairman Jovy Venzon, for councilors.
