DOTr activates Oplan Summer Vacation 2022

DEPARTMENT of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade has ordered the activation of Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Summer Vacation.

The campaign aims to assist motorists and travelers from April 8 to 18 before and after the observance of the Holy Week.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has heightened its alert level in line with Tugade's directive.

LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III directed the board's executive director, Kristina Cassion, and chiefs of the central office and regional directors all over the country to coordinate with other government agencies to ensure the safety of commuters.

The LTFRB officials were also ordered to ensure that bus terminals will follow LTFRB guidelines.

The agency stressed that the number of passengers is expected to increase during the Holy Week.

In line with the preparation, the LTFRB will conduct random inspection in terminals to ensure the road worthiness of buses and other public utility vehicles and safety of the passengers.

The agency will also put up complaint desks to assist the commuters in reporting incidents.

"Ipoposte ang mga Malasakit Help Desk na maaaring pagtanungan o pagsumubungan ng mga pasahero, sa mga naitalagang Integrated Terminal Exchange na nauna nang nabanggit at sa mga lugar malapit sa mga pribadong terminals," the DOTR stated.

The agency asked operators of terminals to enforce health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
