2 new Covid cases in Cagayan de Oro

THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro has gone all the way down to less than five after the city recorded only two new cases, the City Health Office reported Friday, April 8, 2022.

This brought the number of Covid-19 cases in the city to 25,806.

According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., all of the new local cases were local index cases involving an 11-year-old female from Barangay Camaman-an and a 58-year-old male from Barangay Iponan. Both of them were unvaccinated.

Cagayan de Oro's active cases have also gone down to 15, of which nine were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, five were outpatients, and one returning overseas Filipino/locally stranded individual (ROF/LSI).

The city also registered one new coronavirus-positive person who is now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,856.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remains at 935 in total.
