THE spirit of “bayanihan” is very much alive among the “Kapampinks” or the Kapampangan supporters of presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and runningmate Senator Kiko Pangilinan as several groups and individuals shared their time and resources for the tandem’s grand rally held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Robinsons Starmills.

As early as Saturday morning, several volunteers and supporters started arriving at the venue bringing various foods, delicacies, and campaign souvenirs that were shared among their fellow attendees.

Some of the goods shared during the campaign were campaign t-shirts, ballers, stickers, pins, fans, and ribbons, while foods such as puto, macaroons, juices, iced buko, various types of breads, lugaw, ice cream and ice candy and bottle waters were likewise served.

Event organizers have earlier announced that 1,000 kilos of famous Kapampangan dish “sisig” and delicacies from different towns and cities in the province will be served during the rally.

Early birds

Despite the 2 p.m. announced schedule of the Manalakaran: Pampanga People’s Rally for Leni-Kiko, supporters started gathering at the venue as early as 6 a.m. Saturday.

Most of the supporters, all wearing different shades of pink, were bringing placards expressing support to the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.

Aside from the main venue in this capital city, Robredo and Pangilinan also visited Angeles City for a mini-rally at 3 p.m.
