Zamboanga Sibugay town’s 9th most wanted person nabbed

POLICEMEN arrested one of the most wanted persons in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, a top police official announced Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Police Colonel Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the arrested wanted person as Claudio Ornopio, 67, a resident of Purok 5 in Paruk village, Siay town.

Larubis said Ornopio was arrested by a joint team of policemen from Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 8:50 a.m. Saturday, April 9, in the town of Leon Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said Ornopio has a standing warrant of arrest for acts of lasciviousness in Relation to Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with P200,000 recommended bail issued on March 1, 2017 by the court of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Larubis said Ornopio is listed as the number nine most wanted person in the municipality of Siay.

He added that Ornopio was taken to Leon Postigo Municipal Police Station for documentation and subsequently brought to Siay Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
